Iryna Klymenko receives Max Weber Prize from the BAdW

The Bavarian Academy of Sciences (BAdW) honoured seven researchers with science awards at its annual meeting. Historian Iryna Klymenko, who is establishing and directing the Research Centre Ukraine for the Max Weber Foundation, received the Max Weber Prize.

The prize is awarded for outstanding achievements in the humanities and social sciences. The historian at LMU Munich researches fundamental social, intellectual and physical processes in early modern Europe. In her postdoctoral thesis, Iryna Klymenko showed how food and clothing practices shaped social and religious orders. Her innovative work and commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration are shaping a new generation of historical scholarship. The BAdW honours Iryna Klymenko's outstanding academic achievements and her extraordinary commitment to cross-border and interdisciplinary collaboration.
